Getting down to the beach as early to sunrise as possible always makes my day. The solitude is soothing to the soul and the golden light of dawn sets everything straight.

DETAILS: Original encaustic painting on wood. Unframed art on a wood panel with 1+ 7/8” depth with white-washed edges. Hanging hardware included. Packed and shipped in insulated boxes to accommodate the fragility of the beeswax.

*Encaustic is a centuries-old process of painting with melted beeswax, tree sap (damar resin) and oil paint. Beeswax is a natural surface and medium that may include tiny fibers or textures caught in the wax. This is a natural part of the process. The medium/surface takes two months to fully cure so treat it gently until then. Once fully cured an encaustic painting can hang over a fireplace without melting. Even after curing it is never recommended to hang encaustic art in direct light, close to a window as the passive solar can cause melting or sweating.

Note: Encaustic is a natural medium and inherently may contain inclusions like air bubbles or particles in the wax surface.
